Stigma and Style of Carpel

The carpel is a single member of a compound pistil. Carpels are made of a stigma, style, and ovary. The stigma is the sticky tip of the carpel containing hairs or flaps that receive pollen grains and provide them with moisture and a place to germinate. The style is a tube connects the stigma to the ovules.
