Adaptation of Animals

Adaptation of Animals If this insect’s adaptations have passed the genetic test of evolution, it should be a bit difficult to locate it in this picture. The insect shown above to the left of the plant expresses the scientific phenomenon known as adaptation. The insect has taken the color of tree bark and it’s leaves in order to camouflage itself with its surroundings. If it hadn’t wandered off from its home, it would be extremely difficult to spot. Adaptation is what contributes to the fitness and survival of animals. Adaptation occurs through the means of evolution and natural selection, the insect most fit to survive in its environment continues to thrive and pass on the phenotypic trait. This insect has adapted to its surroundings in order to avoid predators to make up for its size and feeding habits.
