Bilateral symmetry

This dead snake shows bilateral symmetry because the left and right sides of the organism can divide into mirror images of each other. Bilateral symmetry is also referred to as plane and reflection symmetry. The word bilateral can be divided into bi (means two) and latus (means side). Symmetry can be divided into syn (means together) and metron (means meter).
