Biological magnification

Biological magnification

Biological Magnification is the increase in the concentration of a substance within certain species/levels of the food chain as either the result of the accumulation of this substance within lower levels of the ecological hierarchy and it’s transference to the lower species predators or its ambient, increasing concentration in the species environment. The bio-magnification of a particular substance is generally a function of the substances inability to be naturally broken down, efficiently enzymatically degraded, or excreted. Unnatural levels of growth hormone in humans derived from ingested produce of farm animals are an example of bio-magnification, as abnormal levels of this substance(notoriously applied to cows) are entirely produced by the transfer of the substances unnatural accumulation in the animal originally(via artificial human design).
