The photo above shows a dragon fly which follows the r-strategist survival strategy. The dragon fly, like other insects, produce many offspring an only live for a short amount of time. R-strategists develop in harsh environments, which are ever changing. Because of the dragonfly’s changing environment, it is more beneficial for it to develop quickly and have many offspring so that at least a few have a chance for survival. Also, there are short generation lifetimes because the environment changes so easily that an older generation wont be as well adapted as the new generation, and cant survive as long.
