A littoral zone organism is an organism that spends most of its time in the littoral zone. The littoral zone is the area of a sea, river or lake that is close to the shore. it is also called the intertidal zone. This zone is shallow and can have many different types of organisms. Examples of littoral zone organisms are frogs, crabs, snails, algae and sponges.
