Long-Day Plant

A Long-Day Plant is one that only flowers after being exposed to light longer than a certain critical length. They only require a short night to flower.  Many of these plants grow in the summer and include lettuce, spinach, wheat, and potatoes. Long-Day Plants can only bloom if they receive more than 12 hours of sunlight.
