Predation is a biological behavior wherein one organism attempts to attack another organism for feeding. When predation occurs, the prey usually dies and the predator eats its tissue. Predation is a natural behavior and although it is graphic, it is necessary for many animals to survive. Many organisms use different means to accomplish their predation on another organism. For example, snakes can you poison to immobilize the victim and then eat it alive without need for a struggle. Panthers can use their sharp claws to capture and hold down any animal that happens to be slower than them. In the picture above, my cat is attempting to predate on a fly that she eventually caught with her paws.
