Long Day Plants

photo[1]

Long day plants or “short night plants” are plants that grow when the days are longer and there is more access to sunlight. Potatoes are best planted from March-June, which is also when the days are longer, making them long day plants. Long day plants have a reaction to the amount of sun or dark they are exposed to, and depending on that exposure it gives the plant a chance to flower or not.
