Hydrophilic Substance

Hydrophilic Substance

A hydrophilic substance is either one completely molecularly polarized(such as salt or the sugar above) or containing a polarized component(such as the head portion of cell membranes)which can react, bond, and dissolve in/with water. Hydrophilic meaning water loving, the characteristic is derived from the attraction between the polarized molecule and water(which, through the greater electronegativity of the oxygen atom contrasted with the slight positive charge of the hydrogen atoms,is rendered polar.),and the polar bonds which form between the inversely charged components in question.
