Auxins are a type of plant hormone that is utilized in order to produce growth. They are an essential part of many plants development. Auxins are hormones and function with similar purpose to the ones that humans have. Auxins function by inhibiting or expressing certain genes (primary response genes) linked with growth. Once a plant is wounded, auxin may induce cell regeneration. Essentially, auxin takes part in almost everything that a plant does in a growing and developing aspect.
