DSC_0172

The Calvin Cycle is made up of the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis. They occur using the energy produced in other reactions in the form of ATP and NADPH. In a three-phase cycle, CO2 and RuBP (a five-carbon molecule) are converted into PGAL, some of which is used to make glucose, and the rest is converted back into RuBP.
