K-Strategist

K-strategists, also known as k-selection,  tend to successfully compete for limited resources among one another. The k-selection theory relates to the selection of combinations of traits in an organism that can trade off between the quality and/or the quantity of offspring.Their populations are typically constant and close to the maximum occupancy the environment can withhold. K-selections traits include large body size, long life expectancy, fewer offspring who are cared for until they fully mature. Some examples are monkeys, humans, whales, elephants, and many more.
