The mushroom shown above is the most common example of basidiomycota. Basidiomycota is a phyla within the subkingdom of Dikarya within the kingdom Fungi. Members of the Basidiomycota phyla are filamentous fungi composed of hyphae, which reproduce sexually using their club shaped ends known as basidia that contain spores.
