Amniotic egg

Amniotic eggs are the eggs of amniotes, which are a group of animals characterized by four limbs and a backbone. This includes mammals, reptiles, and birds. Unlike anamniotes, amniotes lay their eggs on land rather than water. The amniotic egg pictured has several parts, including the eggshell, inner membrane, and the yolk. The yolk holds nutrients for the embryo while it is developing.
