A protein is a biologically functional molecule that consists of one of more polypeptides, which are each folded and coiled into a specific three-dimensional structure. The simplest level of a protein is made up of amino acids. Storage proteins store amino acids. Ovalbumin is the protein of egg white which is used as an amino acid source for the developing embryo.
