Hydrophilic

A molecule is hydrophilic when it has the tendency to be dissolved in polar substances, like water. Sugar is hydrophilic and can draw water out of foods. Alcohol is also hydrophilic. This picture is of grapes, because it can be fermented to create alcohol. Also, when alcohol is fermented, grapes with a high amount of sugar in them are generally used.
