Long Day Plant

A long day plant is a plant that flowers only after being exposed to light periods longer than a certain critical length. These periods usually occur in summer, meaning they have shorter nights. Long day plants are a photoperiodism; these also include short day plants and day neutral plants. Examples include lettuce, spinach, and some different types of wheat.
