Throughout the world there are different types of fungi, some are multicellular and others are single celled. Fungi have eukaryotic cells that have cell walls that are usually made of chitin (different from the plant’s cell wall that is made from cellulose). They survive by breaking down dead organic material so that they maintain the nutrients required. The fungi kingdom includes mushrooms, yeasts, and molds. In the picture the mushrooms and the tree are living in a symbiotic relationship because the mushrooms inhabits the tree’s root and provides it with nutrients.
