Asexual Reproduction

Davie-20130823-00083

The factory orange tree above reproduces asexually. Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction in which the offspring arises from a single parent, rather than two as in sexual reproduction, and the offspring inherit the genes from that single parent. The offspring are also identical genetic copies of the parent organism. The orange tree (citrus tree) reproduces asexually through the means of grafting.
