The human knee shown above is an example of a connective tissue. A connective tissue is a biological tissue that supports, connects, or separates different types of tissues and organs of the body. Connective tissue serves many functions such as storage of energy, protection of organs, connecting body tissues, and connecting epithelial tissue to muscle fiber.
