Seed Dispersal

Seed Dispersal

Due to their limited movement, plants require the help of outside forces to disperse its seeds and fertilize other plants. There are five physical factors that help with this process: wind, gravity, water, animals, and by ballistic (from surface air -to- air). The fruits of a palm tree, known as coconuts, as depicted above, are the seeds of this immense plant. The palm tree relies on strong winds as well as the ocean (usually near, like at a beach) to disperse its seeds to another location on the planet.
